Watford has a central position on the M1 and M25 with a direct train service that reaches central London within 20 minutes. Watford offers several good schools (such as Watford Boys Grammar, Watford Girls Grammar and Parameter’s) and a large expanse of park and ancient woodland alongside the Grand Union Canal. Watford is also at the end of London Undergrounds’ Metropolitan Line which is due to be extended to Watford Junction.
There are also two new stations due to open in 2018. There are approved plans to revamp Charter Place in the Heart of the High Street into a leisure and shopping centre with a multiplex cinema. There a various well-known companies that have their head offices in the area such as Camelot Group, TK Maxx and Warner Bros. The film studios at Leavesden attract big budget productions and host the phenomenally successful Harry Potter studio tour.
